What to Wear on a Long-Haul Flight: comfortable clothes that look effortlessly chic
A long-haul flight asks a lot of an outfit. You wear it through the airport, for hours in a seat, and then out the other side. Perhaps you’ll even land in a completely different climate. You want to be comfortable and still feel like yourself when you arrive. And no, you don’t always need to settle for a tracksuit.
Start with a pair of your favourite trousers, then add a layer that can do more than one job.
Start with cool trousers that don’t squeeze or pinch
The AWAN Flow Pants have a soft elastic waistband, a relaxed wide-leg shape and deep pockets. One customer calls them her “standard travel pants” and says the pockets are roomy enough for her passport.
That’s useful when you’re moving through the airport and want the things you need close to hand.
Add a layer that earns its place
The Wrap Cardigan can be worn as a blouse or as a cardigan. It looks dressed up and feminine, which might make you forget that it is also thermal, breathable and highly moisture-wicking. One piece, two jobs, and you can decide how to wear it when you get there.
Prefer a dress?
The AWAN Wrap Dress has an adjustable waist tie, soft, skin-friendly fabric and deep pockets. If you’re choosing it for a flight, the adjustable wrap and soft fabric make it easy to wear throughout the journey. The product page has the fit details and measurements.
My long-haul outfit
My go-to long-haul travel outfit is actually the Wrap Dress over the Flow Pants. It’s super comfortable for the journey, feels like an outfit when you land, and doesn’t require a change of character halfway through. If I’m travelling to a warm destination, I simply remove the trousers when I arrive.
Safe travels!
