Lazy Dressing for Busy Women Who Love Fashion
What is a lazy dresser?
For someone who works in fashion, I am an incredibly lazy dresser.
I love clothes. I love feeling feminine. I love getting dressed up. I just do not want to spend that much time doing it.
I do not want to stand in front of the wardrobe trying on three outfits, questioning how I look, then changing again before dinner. I do not want to spend the day pulling, tucking and adjusting. And I do not want getting dressed to become a confidence minefield every morning.
The busier my life gets, the less patience I have for outfit admin.
Steve Jobs was obviously onto something.
That doesn't mean I want to give up on fashion and wear the same black turtleneck every day. I still want to look like myself. I want to feel feminine, comfortable and considered. I just want it without the muss & the fuss.
That is what we mean by lazy dressing.

A uniform does not have to mean one outfit
The word uniform can sound joyless. But there is a useful idea in it: fewer decisions, and clothes that work together without a negotiation.
That does not mean wearing the exact same thing every day. It means finding a few shapes, colours and fabrics that make getting dressed easier. Pieces you can wear in more than one part of your life, without needing a complete change of character between breakfast and dinner.
At AWAN, that thinking shows up in small design choices. An elasticated waistband. An adjustable wrap top. Soft, stretchy fabric that moves with you. Colours that work together.
None of those details is revolutionary on its own. The difference is how much easier they make a real day.
The lazy dresser's test
When I am choosing a piece, I ask myself a few plain questions:
- Can I sit, walk and show up it without getting self conscious about what I'm wearing?
- Can I wear it more than one way, or with things I already own?
- Does it allow me to still feel like me when I am not dressed up?
- Would I choose it on a morning when I have no time to experiment?
Try the same test with clothes you already have. Put on a dress or a pair of trousers and wear them while you do ordinary things. Sit down. Play with your kids. Go for dinner with friends. Notice what you keep adjusting - uncomfortably. Then notice which pieces you simply forget you are wearing.
A garment can look perfect in a photo and still feel restrictive in your actual life.
Looking like you made an effort in less than a minute
The goal is to look chic and put together, with minimal effort.
An adjustable wrap dress can be tied the way you like it. A soft waistband can make trousers easier to wear for a full day. A cardigan that works open or tied gives you another option without adding another complicated outfit.
were designed with that kind of flexibility in mind. Check each product page for current sizes, colours and fit details.
Lazy dressing is not laziness about style. It is about being more selective about what deserves your time.
After all, your most valuable asset is your time. Spend it wisely, in easy fashion tailor-made for the wellbeing of mind, body and planet.
